~You have found the only 100% organic
ear candles in the world!~
~ These natural ear candles are handmade, using just two ingredients: certified organic beeswax and certified organic cotton. Kansas Candles' organic ear candles feature a distinctive comfort tip, designed to be safe, comfortable and effective for all sizes and shapes of ears~
~  The vast majority of candle manufacturers depend on paraffin wax, a petroleum by-product, and conventionally grown cotton, one of the most chemically laden crops in the world~
For this reason, Kansas Candles uses certified organic cotton and certified organic beeswax. No pesticides, herbicides or chemicals are used in the growing or production of organic cotton. As for organic beeswax, no drugs or chemicals are allowed in or around the bees or their hives. Even the land within the bees' flying radius must be certified organic~
Most of the beeswax ear candles on the market are actually a blend of paraffin and beeswax. This is because beeswax is not only more expensive but also more difficult to work with than paraffin. After more than a year of careful research, they figured out how to make these candles without the use of any additional substances~
Another crucial step in developing a higher quality ear candle was determining the size and shape needed to achieve maximum safety, comfort and effectiveness. They explored every aspect of ear coning and studied the human ear extensively~

~ Kansas Candles' entire product, down to the packaging, is made from renewable resources. Kansas Candles' packaging is also a reflection of their commitment to the environment. You will need:  protective cloth, bowl of water, scissors & fire source

  1. After the recipient is situated, drape a protective cloth over areas that will be exposed to the candle. You may dampen the cloth as a further precaution.

  2. Make sure both ends of the candle are open, then light the large end.

  3. Following the safe positioning guidelines, place the tapered tip of the ear candle to the opening of the ear canal.  Not the lit end.  Make sure that the candle forms a seal on the ear canal and fits comfortably.  Stop coning immediately if there is ever any discomfort.

  4. The ash from the ear candle needs to be cut off frequently to keep the burning end open.  An assistant needs to position the bowl of water to receive the candle ash.  lf no assistant is available you need to remove the candle cautiously and take it to the bowl of water to be cut.

  5. Let the candle burn no closer than four inches from the recipient's ear.  Remove it carefully and extinguish the fire by cutting the burning portion into the bowl of water.  We suggest using no more than two candles per ear in a single session.  One or two more sessions may be needed, evenly spaced two to seven days apart.
Ear  coning  is recommended  in  a  location  that  is  free  of  drafts  with  adequate ventilation.  The coning session will be much  more  enjoyable  if  the  atmosphere is peaceful.  Massaging over the sinuses and around the ears during the coning session  can  be  very  beneficial.  Read  these  instructions,  put  on  some  soft  music  and  find a comfortable resting place for the lucky person about to receive the ear coning.

Please use caution when working with fire and hot wax.  Never attempt to cone your ears unassisted. Lying on one's side is unsafe for ear coning.

The recipient of the ear coning may sit, lounge or lie down, but their head will need to be adjusted so the ear candle can be held in a safe position.  The candle needs to be positioned horizontally, leaving space for the bowl of water to fit under it.  As in the picture on the left, the recipient's head will be tilted away from the candle because of the upward S-curve shape of the ear canal.  Never position the ear candle vertically (straight up & down).  The steeper the angle of the candle, the greater the risk of hot wax dripping into the ear.  Never hold the ear candle at a downward angle either.

Practice positioning the candle correctly before lighting it.
